After serving up oysters and seafood for 13 years, Starfish Oyster Bed & Grill closed up shop last year for a revamp. With a fresh makeover, the space re-opened as Pearl Diver (@PearlDiverTO) in late 2014.
This modern steakhouse, which stands for New and Old, is brought to us by Hanif Harji’s Icon Legacy Hospitality, Charles Khabouth’s Ink Entertainment and their Executive Chef Stuart Cameron (@chef_stucameron). They’ve got an excellent track record with Patria, Byblos and Weslodge. NAO Steakhouse (@NAOsteakhouse) is another wonderful addition to their growing empire.
Since opening in 2012, Hawker Bar (@HawkerBar) has been a real hotspot on Ossington. Specializing in Singapore-style street food, it’s always been tough grabbing one of the limited seats in this tiny restaurant. If this sounds familiar, you’ll be pleased to know that Hawker Bar has recently more than doubled in size with the expansion onto the second floor of their building.

Located in Cabbagetown, Zakkushi is the place to go for yakitori in Toronto. Originating from Vancouver, Zakkushi opened up nearly two years ago and is still as popular as ever. Reservations are a must for weekend visits or expect to wait.
