Who would’ve thought that a “Jewish Kid from Long Island” would open a successful ramen shop in Tokyo? New York got a taste of this last year when Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop opened in Gotham West Market. Soon after, a full-service Ivan Ramen opened on Clinton Street earlier this year.
Gramercy Tavern (@GramercyTavern) has been on my list for a while and trip after trip to NYC, we always seem to bypass it for something newer and more exciting. But not this time around! While it might not be the new hot thing in town, there’s a reason why they’ve been going strong for the past 20 years.
When we visited Russ & Daughters last year, we picked up several items from the tiny store and ate our purchases uncomfortably outside in the cold on a vacant park bench. I would’ve happily done it again but earlier this year, Russ & Daughters opened up a cafe.
Thinking of the winter holidays always brings a smile to my face as I begin to think of all the incredible food I’ll be indulging in. As the holidays are quickly approaching, I’m sure that menu planning and gifting ideas are on everyone’s mind.
A couple months ago, a group of us dropped by Rasa for dinner and felt that the food was a little hit and miss. After reading my post, the Food Dudes (@TheFoodDudesTO) reached out to me asking for a second chance. Being a big fan of the Food Dudes and coupled with the fact that the day of our initial visit was the first day they launched their new menu, I was more than happy to return to check out their latest offerings. We made quite a dent in their menu and dish after dish, we were impressed with what was coming out of the kitchen.
