After coming back from a trip to Chicago, everyone will ask if you ate at Girl & the Goat, one of the city’s most well known restaurants. I needed to see for myself if the restaurant was worth all the hype.
My first trip to Chicago started off with quite the meal at Monteverde (@). Since it was my first time visiting, I wanted to try a mix of well-known essential Chicago restaurants as well as a few newer options. Monteverde, which falls in the latter, opened in West Loop in late 2015 and since then has received many accolades including being named one of Food & Wine’s best new restaurants in 2016.
Specializing in Creole-inspired seafood boils, The Captain’s Boil (@) opened their first location in North York at the end of 2015. In the past year, they’ve taken the city by storm with the opening of over 10 locations throughout the GTA and several more on the way.
