While Mike and I were in Victoria for a day, we dropped by the famous Red Fish Blue Fish (@RFBFVictoria). Cooking all their food in an old cargo container, Red Fish Blue Fish is located on a pier downtown.
While Mike and I were on Vancouver Island, we stayed at the Tigh-Na-Mara spa resort in Parksville for two nights. One of the restaurants on the resort was the Cedar Room where we ate breakfast both mornings.
Being the recipient of the “Best New Restaurant” and “Best Upscale Restaurant” awards in 2012 from Vancouver Magazine, Mike and I were really looking forward to our lunch at Hawksworth (@HawksworthRest). Oh, and the chef, David Hawksworth, was also the recipient of the “Chef of the Year” award by the magazine. To say our expectations were high was an understatement.
Notorious for their long waits, I was afraid of what our wait time would be for a group of 6. On a Saturday morning, we decided to meet up for brunch at 9am right when they opened. Arriving ten minutes before opening, there was already a large crowd eager to get their brunch on.
It was near the end of my Vancouver trip and my grandma was shocked to hear that I had not yet had dim sum. So, we ended up at Kirin for lunch, one of our go-to dim sum restaurants.
