If you’re walking down Tank House Lane in the Distillery District, you can’t help but notice El Catrin (@elcatrinca), the newly opened Mexican tapas restaurant.
We ended off our Paris trip with dinner at Chez Dumonet. Located in the 6th arrondissement, this restaurant serves up French bistro classics. While the food isn’t cheap, it’s definitely worth every penny.
Ladurée (@MaisonLaduree), the iconic Paris bakery, all started back in 1862 by Louis Ernest Ladurée. Fast forward to 2013 and Ladurée is internationally known with stores all over the world including Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and our neighbors in the US. Sadly, nothing in Canada…yet.
You’ll notice that most of the restaurants on San Pellegrino’s list of the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” are on the splurgey side. While doing some research for our Paris trip, we discovered that Le Chateaubriand has an affordable 60€ tasting menu. Unfortunately we discovered this a little too late and weren’t able to secure a reservation. The good news is that Le Chateaubriand has a no reservation, first-come first-serve second seating.
If you want a reservation at Le Comptoir for a weekday dinner, you’re going to have to book well in advance…I’m talking months in advance! Not realizing this until it was too late, Mike and I dropped by for lunch instead since it’s first come first serve first serve for lunch and weekends.
