Le Petit Dejeuner

Our original plan was to go to St. Lawrence Market, but on the subway ride down to King Station, it dawned on us that the market might not be open on Sundays. Sure enough, after exiting the subway and consulting our phones, we discovered we were right and decided to go to Le Petit Dejeuner. Walking down King Street, we passed by Origin and made that our back-up plan in case Le Petit Dejeuner was packed, but since it was a quarter past two, we were able to get a seat.

Wvrst

After hearing about Wvrst when it first opened a few weeks ago, I was really excited to try it! They serve up a large variety of sausages in a beer hall setting with communal tables and a great selection of beers (albeit expensive). Upon entering, we were greeted in a friendly manner and were explained how the restaurant worked. You line up at the cashier to order and pay for your food. After being given a number, you seat yourself at one of the communal tables and a server brings the food to you.

Nami

On a Saturday evening, my friends and I we were deciding between Terroni and Nami, the restaurant with the black exterior, located next door (on Adeleide, just west of Church street). We decided to go for Japanese and ended up at Nami. We noticed that the restaurant had a sushi bar with seating, as well as private booths available, but we were seated at one of the regular tables in the middle of the restaurant.

School Bakery & Café

As we were walking down Fraser Street towards School Bakery & Café, we saw a huge crowd from afar, which turned out to be the line for the restaurant. After putting our name down on the waitlist, I inquired with the hostess how long she estimated the wait to be for the two of us, but she couldn’t give me a firm time, stating that not only were there many groups ahead of us, but there were also two large groups who had yet to be seated. So, we braced ourselves for a long wait.

Scaramouche

Following the map to Scaramouche, Mike and I were surprised to end up in front of an older apartment building located in Forest Hill. It seemed like a very odd place for a high-end restaurant, however, looks can certainly be deceiving…
