One of my co-workers had been raving about Japango for the longest time, so one day, when I managed to leave work a reasonable time, Mike and I made our way over. Located on Elizabeth street, just off of Dundas, between Bay and University, you probably would never notice it if you weren’t looking for it.
DT Bistro (aka Dessert Trends) occupies a cute little spot on Harbord between Spadina and Bathurst. The restaurant, which looks like it’s been converted from a house, has large windows with French doors. Despite the dining area not being very large, it has a very bright and airy feel to it.
I was looking for a decent restaurant in the Little Italy area for dinner and came across L.A.B. (Live and Breathe), a place I had been meaning to try for some time. For some reason I always thought this was a vegetarian restaurant and was surprised to see that there was meat on the menu. Maybe it was just the name of the restaurant that threw me off.
Clocking in at two hours, this was certainly the longest I have ever waited at a restaurant. Was the food good? Yes. Was it worth the two hour wait? No.
A while ago, somebody recommended Crêpes à GoGo to me. He informed me that they made some of the best crepes in Toronto. After my first visit, I had to agree and have been back here several times since. Located in Yorkville, it occupies a small and cozy space. It’s always pretty busy so we usually end up seated on stools and eating at a small counter. Although seating is limited, I wouldn’t recommend take-out, unless you plan to eat it immediately.
