After hearing so much about La Taqueria, I knew this was a place I had to check out when I went home. Located in Gastown, Mike and I dropped by to start our lunch off with some tacos before heading over to Meat and Bread for our main meal.
Located in Little Italy, Utopia Cafe occupies a small space with tightly packed tables. Thankfully, it was pretty empty when Chris and I dropped by on a Monday evening. I can imagine having to get pretty up close and personal with neighboring patrons when this place gets a little busy.
Located in Liberty Village, Mildred’s is a very modern and spacious restaurant, which is certainly a change from the kitschy brunch spots I normally hit up.
When I was in Vancouver, I was craving a good burger. White Spot is a childhood favourite of mine and when I suggested it, my friend Dave said it was too “vanilla” for his liking and took me and Mike to Romer’s Burger Bar instead.
Whenever we’re trying to decide what to eat for dinner, Mike always suggests Indian food. I usually turn it down since it’s such a heavy meal and I always leave the restaurant feeling five pounds heavier. So he was surprised when I suggested we go to Amaya one evening. Since I’ve heard such great things about the small chain, I was going in with pretty high expectations.
