When Prairie Girl Bakery first opened in 2011, it was their cupcakes that brought them to fame. Fast forward four years and Prairie Girl Bakery now has three locations in the city as well as a new menu of delicious treats. They’re not just cupcakes anymore!

Prairie Girl Bakery

Being a big fan of Prairie Girl (@prairiegirlbake) cupcakes, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their new treats consisting of a selection of two-bite tarts, brownies, cookies and sandwich cookies:

They also launched the “Celebration Cake” which is a single layer 6-inch cake with your choice of cake base, icing, filling and an optional message on top. For those with restrictive diets, gluten-free and vegan options are also available.

I had the chance to sample the new menu items and am impressed with their new offerings. My personal favourites were the butter tart, fudge brownie and peanut butter chocolate sandwich cookie (my favourite combo!). I love the fact that they come in these cute little portions – I felt a little less guilty indulging in more than a few of these in one sitting. Trust me, you’ll want to eat more than one!

Prairie Girl Bakery

You can purchase these new goodies at any of their three locations (Victoria street, First Canadian Place and Yorkville) where everything is baked fresh daily. You can also order in advance online so you can beat the rush. Oh, and if you want to mix it up, the brownies/blondies/tarts and sandwich cookies can be mixed in a box with mini cupcakes as they’re the same size and price.

Prairie Girl is always coming up with fun new flavour combinations so look out for their treats of the week on their website (here).
