Located in the financial district on Yonge, just south of King, is the newly opened Caffè Artigiano (@CaffeArtigiano). With 11 locations in BC and 4 in Calgary, this is their first foray into the east.

Since I’m originally from Vancouver, I’m already quite familiar with this Italian-themed coffee house which first opened back in 2000. Back in the day, you’d find me hanging out at the Kerrisdale location. It’s always nice to see something from home open up in your new home!

This new location features a 1400sq ft space located in Toronto’s first CIBC building and has a seating capacity of 44. It’s a large open café which has gorgeous herringbone flooring, marble countertops, black granite table tops and features splashes of red for some colour.

Caffè Artigiano, which translates to “artisan coffee”, sources freshly harvested beans from the world’s coffee growing regions and roasts the beans themselves in their roasting plant in Burnaby, BC. Each batch is thoroughly tested to ensure your cup of coffee is nothing less than excellent.

In addition to the coffee offerings, the café has everything to satisfy your breakfast, lunch and snacking needs. They offer a selection of baked goods including cookies, cakes, muffins and scones. For lunch, they have a menu of house-made soups, gourmet salads and Italian paninis.

I checked out their new location last week and sampled some of their offerings:

For the non-coffee drinkers out there, Caffé Artigiano also offers a selection of teas

You’ll definitely be seeing me here again for their delicious Spanish latte. Anything that has condensed milk in it has got my vote! Their sandwiches are also excellent – even if you’re not a vegetarian, you’ll love their tomato &  bocconcini sandwich. So, if you’re looking for a spot to get your caffeine fix and grab a bite to eat, Caffé Artigiano is well worth a visit.
