The critically acclaimed and award-winning restaurant documentary, Spinning Plates is coming to Toronto! Bringing together the stories of three different restaurants and the people behind them, it’s definitely a movie that’s fit for a foodie.
The three restaurants featured couldn’t be more different which really makes the documentary interesting. It features the stories of world-renowned chef Grant Achatz of Alinea and his battle with a life-threatening cancer, a 150-year old family restaurant in Iowa and a Mexican restaurant in Arizona where the owners are fighting for their restaurant’s survival in order to provide for their daughter.
Spinning Plates will be opening theatrically in Toronto at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on December 7th, 2013 and will also be expanding nationwide in the following weeks. The documentary has already opened in the US to fantastic reviews. It was also the winner of audience awards at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, Naples International Film Festival and Maui Film Festival. I don’t know about you but I’m convinced! If you need any more convincing, check out the compelling trailer below.
