Santouka

With the recent opening of Santouka, it’s clear the ramen hype in Toronto has yet to die down. This ramen joint, which originated in Hokkaido, Japan, is located on Dundas, just east of Yonge.

Le Petit Déjeuner

Located at King and Jarvis is Le Petit Dejeuner, a cute little brunch spot tucked between all the furniture stores in the area.

Free Times Café

I’m not usually a big fan of buffets but the “Bella! Did ya eat?” brunch buffet at Free Times Café was definitely an exception.

Momofuku Noodle Bar

Located in a three-story glass building adjacent to the newly built Shangri-La hotel, David Chang’s famous Momofuku chain arrives in Toronto at last. The building houses Momofuku Noodle Bar, Nikai (the bar and lounge), Daishö which features “large format meals” meant for parties of four to ten and Shōtō which only serves a $150 tasting menu.

Restoran Malaysia

Being a fan of Malaysian food, it’s a little unfortunate that there aren’t very many Malaysian restaurants downtown. Having heard great things about Restoran Malaysia in Richmond Hill, I finally made the trek up north to satisfy my craving.
