The Best Things I Ate in 2015

Goodbye 2015 and hello 2016! Reflecting on last year, it was yet another amazing year for food. Here are my picks for the 10 best dishes I ate during the year (in chronological order):

Kinka Izakaya

While this beloved izakaya chain no longer goes by the name Guu Izakaya, Kinka Izakaya (@KinkaIzakayaTO) still has the same great food, staff and lively atmosphere.

[Vancouver] Wildebeest

While Wildebeest (@WildebeestYVR) may be primarily known for their dinner service, this nose-to-tail restaurant offers a killer brunch on weekends.

Eulalie’s Corner Store

Located in the heart of Little India, you’ll find this kitschy little bar called Eulalie’s Corner Store (@EulaliesCS). Open everyday until 2am, this is a great neighbourhood spot with a nice selection of beer and good eats.

Hopgood’s Foodliner (Now Closed)

There’s certainly no shortage of great brunch in the city but what we’re really lacking are restaurants that take reservations for brunch. Most of the time, we’re either waking up extra early to beat the rush or we’re spending an hour+ waiting. Sometimes, you just don’t want to deal with the hassle. That’s where Hopgood’s Foodliner (@FoodlinerTO) comes in.
